Health Guarantee

Breeder’s Responsibility

The Breeder is responsible for ensuring the puppy’s good health upon delivery. Within 3 days of receiving the puppy, the Buyer should have the puppy examined by a veterinarian. If the puppy is found to be in poor health, the Buyer can choose to return the puppy for a full refund or keep the puppy while being reimbursed for all related veterinary costs up to the purchase price, in case of a pre-existing condition.

Furthermore, the Breeder provides a 2-year warranty from the date of birth against serious genetic disorders that significantly impact the dog’s quality of life. If such a disorder is found, the Breeder will offer a replacement puppy from the next available litter or refund the veterinary costs up to the original purchase price, at the Breeder’s discretion. It’s not necessary to return the puppy, but all veterinary records must be provided.

Additionally, for certain conditions like HD, documentation from PennHIP or OFA is required within 6 months of the dog reaching 2 years of age. For cataracts or PRA, documentation from a veterinary ophthalmologist is necessary. This warranty does not cover common issues such as ear infections, allergies, or misaligned teeth, but only severe or life-threatening diseases.
Finally, the Breeder has the right to have the puppy checked by a veterinarian of their choice at their expense before offering a replacement puppy or refund.

Buyer’s Responsibility

Responsibilities of the BuyerAs the Buyer, it is your responsibility to ensure that the puppy/dog is provided with a caring and nurturing home environment.

You are required to schedule and attend annual check-ups for the dog at a veterinarian, ensuring that all vaccinations, including rabies, are kept up to date. Additionally, you must follow all preventative treatments recommended by the veterinarian and maintain accurate records of all procedures and visits. Please note that the use of any oral tick medication will void the Health Warrant; instead, it is recommended to use a topical or natural spray.

By the time the dog is five months old, you should enroll the puppy in either group or private training classes. It is important to understand that the Breeder is not liable for any temperament issues that may arise after the puppy leaves their premises. Therefore, no refund or replacement puppy will be provided due to temperament issues. The Buyer assumes full responsibility for the dog’s temperament by ensuring proper socialization and continued obedience classes until the puppy matures into an adult dog with appropriate behavior.

It is essential to feed the puppy/dog only premium quality dog food. The Breeder recommends Canadian-made brands such as TLC, Now!, Canadian Naturals, Horizon, and Go!. If opting for a RAW diet, it must be a pre-prepared RAW diet, with Puppy Love Freeze Dried or Smack being the recommended options. Consult your local pet store or veterinarian for guidance to ensure the diet is balanced and safe for the puppy’s proper bone and structure development.
Avoid allowing the puppy/dog to become overweight or engaging in repetitive, rigorous exercise during the puppy’s first year of development.

In the event that you are no longer able to care for the dog at any point during its life, you must promptly contact the Breeder. If the puppy is returned before reaching 4 months of age, the Breeder will refund 50% of the purchase price. After the age of 4 months, the Breeder will exercise discretion in determining any potential refund.
Please note that the health guarantee is only applicable to the original purchaser. If the puppy/dog is sold, the health guarantee becomes invalid.
